seg2segy

In the past, -m32 was required to compile seg2segy.c, however, that
is no longer necessary. The code has been modified to be compiled under
64 bit.

installation:

type:

make remake

put the binary on your path somewhere.

Usage: seg2segy first-seg2file number-of-files [shot-number]

the result will be a file named

first-seg2file.sgy

segyread tape=first-seg2file.sgy verbose=1 endian=BYTE conv=0 |
segyclean > data.su

Note that this version of seg2segy does not convert from ieee to
SEGY fortran, it only swaps bytes so that the endian is correct.

BYTE=0   for little endian platforms
BYTE=1   for big endian platforms

Update: 7 Dec 2019:
The seg2segy.c code has been modified to compile under 64 bit
and the tmpnam call has been replaced with mkstemp.

To test the demo files type:

to convert the first file only
seg2segy 329.dat 1

The segyread program autodetects the endian so this should be all
you need to type:
segyread tape=329.sgy verbose=1 | segyclean > 329.su

suxwigb < 329.su

or

suxwigb < 329.su perc=99

will show 3 test traces with oscillatory signals.

The other files are simply copies of the first file

seg2segy 329.dat 4

segyread tape=329.sgy verbose=1 | segyclean > 329.su

suxwigb < 329.su

The result will be the same 3 seismic traces repeated 4 times

suxwigb < 329.su  perc=99

will boost the smaller amplitudes
